Why has the Quran been revealed: لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ (38.29) It is so that people ponder over its verses. They reflect deeply on the verses of the Quran and understand its deeper meaning. The Quran has been revealed so that people understand its meaning. Nowadays some people memorize the words of the Quran, while others simply recite the Quran. The Quran hasn’t been revealed for all of this. The Quran itself says that it has been revealed for contemplation, so that people take lessons from it and reform themselves. It is indeed strange that an age has come in which Islam has become unknown. The Hadith says this about the Quran: وَلاَ تَنْقَضِي عَجَائِبُهُ (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2906) The miracles of the Quran will never come to an end. Some Quranic truths have been discovered and many more are yet to be discovered. Some meanings of the Quran are yet to be known, studied and discovered. The Quran says about the Pharaoh's body: Copy arabic text (10.92). The Quran says about Moses' contemporary Pharaoh: We shall save your body this day. When the Quran was revealed, nobody knew for thousands of years where Pharaoh's body was preserved. Toward the end of the 19th century, some European scholars went to Egypt. They went inside the pyramids where they discovered the body of the Pharaoh, thousands of years later! This shows that فَالْيَوْمَ نُنَجِّيكَ بِبَدَنِكَ لِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ آيَةً  has become a historical fact. People believe that all the knowledge contained in the Quran is known to them. Nothing else needs to be known. This is why, they keep reciting the Quran and don’t reflect on its meaning. Nobody now believes that the Quran contains so much meaning which would continue to be discovered in the coming generations. This concept has now become unknown to people.
